For Idahoans - Good-Bye Chuck

An Iraq war veteran, James Mace, has stepped up as a write-in candidate in the Democratic primary for legislative district 20 and will be on the ballot in November against Chuck Winder, who deservedly incurred national wrath this week for saying, "Rape and incest was used as a reason to oppose this. I would hope that when a woman goes into a physician, with a rape issue, that that physician will indeed ask her about perhaps her marriage, was this pregnancy caused by normal relations in a marriage, or was it truly caused by a rape.  I assume that's part of the counseling that goes on."  Amazingly, this was during Winder's testimony in support of the mandatory ultrasound bill he sponsored which would--in most cases--have required women seeking lawful abortions to submit to trans-vaginal ultrasounds against their will, which I think most of us would certainly consider a "rape issue."  Idahoans are so thrilled with Chuck Winder that I have been fielding lots of requests for info on how they can help James Mace, so I'm sharing the link to donate to his campaign:, and I have been asked to speak at one of the TWO rallies scheduled for the Idaho Statehouse on Monday.  There's a silent vigil planned for Monday night at 7:30PM, but the rally that begins at 11:00 AM is officially known as Pack 'Em Up And Move 'Em Out Rally, and I will be one of the speakers, then volunteers will be delivering moving boxes to our illustrious legislators who have chosen to waste our tax dollars fighting for bills being sent to us from conservative GOP national PACs rather than passing bills that actually address the problems we HAVE in Idaho--like lack of health insurance, bridges and roads that haven't been replaced, underfunded schools, numerous unchecked ethics violations by elected officials, unemployment and now how to boost the economy of a state that relies heavily on tourism and now looks like a place a sane woman would only come to if drug by force.

Normally, I'm not an "angry protest" sort of person, but Idaho was one of the "Wild West" states, and it wasn't so long ago that the legislators would have literally been run out town, and if the Idaho GOP is so obviously determined to drive us backward in time, maybe we should oblige them for a day..........
