Yesterday was it's first full day, and it finally struck me about half way through the day that THE WHOLE IDEA OF A SLING is probably that if I'm having to take my arm out of it all the time to do things, I'm probably not really "resting" my arm, which explains quite a bit. SO.....I'm actually really resting my arm now and actually not using it, so it might honestly get better in a week or two.
Hm.....go figure........

Well, I can seee why a sewing, fabric lover like yourself isn't really loving the sling.... it's a tad bland. Can you spice it up without hurting yourself?
Havint to use a sling is no fun but just remember - once your arm is better the sling makes a great kitty carrier. Chief used to love to be carried around in my sling while I worked on the computer or sewed. Just saying.......
By George, I think she's got it!
And while I love Jillsknit's suggestion... I really don't see Theo as the cat for it. Stay in the sling instead of sprawling on top of the sewing-in-progress? Nah. Now, I *can* picture Calisto taking a shine to the sling, and Toni trying to sew with one cat around her neck and another on top of the project....
