Yeah, that one.It's back.
Not that I've grown any fonder of it during our time apart, but I only have one clue left and, above all else, I want my knitting needles back. (The things I will go through for some #4 bamboos.....)
So it has been rechristened "Lazarus" (which is a whole lot nicer than it's previous names--"beaded knitting abyss," "stupid-ass bird shawl," and "the beady thing") because frankly, no one thought it would ever see the light of day again.
Obviously, when I fall out of love with something, I REALLY fall out of love with it. For those of you feeling a bit nervous for Andy at this point, let me assure you that all is still wonderful, though if he ever sprouts one wing, gets beady red eyes, and starts dancing around the house as the evil queen from Swan Lake, I am SERIOUSLY going to rethink things.....

I vote for a combination of your previous MS3 nicknames:
"stupid-ass beady-eyed bird shawl"
I am just not crazy about the abrupt switch into the "wing" part I love the different ideas and even the notion of assymetry, but I abhor the jarring suddenness of the change.
Mine is hibernating indefinitely. It's only on clue 3, but I haven't the heart to rip it.
I was thinking of tweaking that section in the transition from one part to the other, or going for one of the other mods (like keeping the feathered pattern idea, but enclosing it in a continuation of the elegant border she had set up.
There's a set of instructions somewhere out there for a reverse shaped border for the other end. It's close, but not identical to the beginning, and it has the benefit of avoiding the horror of grafting together two pieces worked separately in the middle (which never worked elegantly, at least not in the examples I saw last summer).
Best of luck finishing her up - mine too is in hibernation. Haven't decided yet what I want to do, but I am at the point where I could do the reverse/symmetric option if I don't rip it out...
